Ruth H. Gobla, 82, of Wilkes-Barre, and formerly of Kidder Street, Wilkes-Barre, passed away Friday morning, Sept. 25, 2015, at Celtic Hospice, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Dallas, she was the daughter of the late Edmund and Gertrude Marsland Miller.

Ruth was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, and was employed by Stroud's Jewelry Store, Wilkes-Barre, as a manager in the jewelry department.

She was a member of the East End Primitive Methodist Church, Wilkes-Barre, president of the Ladies Aid, a member of the Missionary Committee and a past Sunday school teacher.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Andrew Gobla, on June 18, 2013; daughter, Elizabeth Stawasz; sisters, Edna Stredney, Jane Miller and Gert Heffernan; and her brother, James Miller.

Surviving are her daughter, Sharon Leslie and her husband, Edward, Miners Mills section of Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren, Erica Bennick and her husband, Matthew, Nicole Gregori and her husband, Matthew, Craig Stawasz, Edward Leslie and Madisen Leslie; son-in-law, Jack Stawasz, Plains Township; sisters and brothers, Helen Jones, Wilkes-Barre; Marion Coolbaugh and her husband, Bill, Wilkes-Barre; Albert Miller and his wife, Lucy, Tunkhannock; Alice Schwartz and her husband, Ronald, Willow Grove; Betty Cooper and her husband, Ed, Hanover Township; and Evelyn Foley and her husband, Mike, Wilkes-Barre; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Ruth will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in East End Primitive Methodist Church, 79 Laurel St., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Marty Garms, pastor, officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations may be made to the Ladies Aid at the East End Primitive Methodist Church or to the East End Primitive Methodist Church, 79 Laurel St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702, in Ruth's memory.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Corcoran Funeral Home Inc., 20 S. Main St., Plains Township.
