EAST NEW MARKET — Jackie Lee Hoffman, 80, died at his home Monday, September 28, 2015. Son of the late Melvin Joseph Hoffman Sr. and Edith Hurley Hoffman, Jack was born near East New Market in 1935. Jackie grew up in the East New Market and Hurlock area working on the family farm. He entered the United States Air Force in 1954 serving as an Instrumentation Trainer and returned home after four years of service. After returning home from service he worked at Airpax, and the Hurlock Lumber Company before beginning a 38 year career working for Middle Department Inspection Agency in Easton, retiring in 2010.

Jack was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Cambridge, and enjoyed working with the Methodist Youth Foundation (MYF) and several other fundraisers for the Church. He was also a member of the Maryland Farm Bureau, Ducks Unlimited, and National Rifle Association.

In addition to parents, Melvin and Edith Hoffman, Jack was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Tubman Hoffman, brothers Melvin Joseph Hoffman Jr. and Donald (Skip) Hoffman.

He is survived by step son and wife of Pasadena, MD, step daughter and husband of Reids Grove, step granddaughter of Cambridge, sister-in-law, of Cambridge, seven nephews and three nieces.

Pallbearers will be Jay Vickers, Brian Hoffman, Dick Wilson, Mark Adams, Buck Insley and Kevin Hoffman.

Family will receive friends at the Zeller Funeral Home the evening of Friday, October 2nd between 6-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Grace United Methodist Church in Cambridge on Saturday, October 3rd at 12 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to services at the Church. Interment will be at the East New Market Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Grace United Methodist Church's MYF group or the Baracca Class.
