loria Fay Keeney, 76, of Columbus, GA, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2015 at Columbus Hospice House. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 10:00 am, in Main Post Cemetery Fort Benning, GA., according to Striffler-Hamby 4071 Macon Road Columbus, GA. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm, on Monday, October 5, 2015 at the funeral home. Gloria was born in Mt. Airy, MD on September 13, 1939 and was the daughter of the late George Runkles and Naomi Gladhill of Thurmont, MD. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses. Gloria was a homemaker that had a great love for country music and was an aspiring singer influenced by Patsy Cline in her younger years. She also had a lot of passion for arts and crafts, working outdoors, and taking care of her pets. Her other hobbies included; going to yard sales, planting flowers, reading and studying the bible which she did up until she became ill. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Calvin Ray Keeney. Survivors include two sons; Dwayne Keeney and Curtis Keeney, a granddaughter; Lisa Keeney, and two great-grandsons; Joshua and Jacob Brandenburg, one brother; Gary Rumkles. The family would like to express their gratitude to staff of Columbus Hospice for their care and support.
