JOSEPH HESSER, 62, former Brillion village president and for nearly forty years a prominent Brillion business man, died at St. Mary’s hospital, Green Bay, Monday evening. Mr. Hesser was attended by his daughter, who is a nurse at the hospital.

Mr. Hesser was born in Germany in 1869 and came to this country with his parents when a small child. The deceased moved to Brillion when a young man where he opened a meat market which he conducted for 39 years. He retired from this business a few years ago and in partnership with Wm. Struebling operated the Black Silver Fox ranch south of Brillion.

Mr. Hesser served two years as village president of Brillion. He was married at Brillion in 1892 to Miss Amelia Trams who, with two sons, Joseph Jr., of Fond du Lac and William of Oshkosh; and four daughters, Mrs. Frank Schneider and Mrs. Joseph Stelpflug of Appleton, Mrs. Chas. Schneider of Two Rivers, and Miss Mildred, a nurse at St. Mary’s hospital, Green Bay, survive him.

The funeral was held from St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Brillion, today with interment in St. Mary’s cemetery there.
