She was born July 6, 1944, in Swampers, LA, the daughter of Fort and Audrey (Jennings) Partin. She was raised in east Texas and graduated from Waskom, TX, High School in 1962.
Barbara married Norman Barnett. They lived in Marshall, TX, where they raised their daughter, Phyllis. Norman died in 1996. Barbara moved to North Dakota to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law, living first in Bottineau and later in Mohall.
Barbara was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Mohall. She was a wonderful wife and mother; she enjoyed teaching her daughter cooking and sewing. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter, son-in-law and his family. Her favorite color was pink. She loved to do paint-by-numbers, puzzles and word searches. Her favorite foods were Tex-Mex, Cajun and Coca-Cola.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
