Grover Addison Jones, age 60, of Marietta, passed away Saturday, October 3.
A Funeral service will be held 4 pm Wednesday, October 7 in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of Smyrna with Dr. Jeff Pennington and Rev. Phil Miller officiating. Interment will be 10 am Thursday, October 8 in the Georgia National Cemetery.
A native of Macon, Mr. Jones served in the US Army, and was a longtime member, loyal choir member, and deacon at the First Baptist Church of Smyrna. He was employed as an accountant for many years and was currently employed by American Tables and Seating.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his father Addison David Jones, Jr., granddaughter Nicole Grace McGlaughn, and father in law Marvin M. Gilreath.
He is survived by his wife Tricia Gilreath Jones of Marietta, daughter Jennifer Jones (Scott) McGlaughn of Hiram, son Robert Addison (Laura) Jones of Smyrna, mother Jane Wilson Jones of Macon, brother David White (Barbara) Jones of Davidson, N.C., grandchildren Matthew Addison and Kristina Grace McGlaughn, and Eleanor Jane Jones.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make contributions to the Music Ministry of the First Baptist Church of Smyrna. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm Tuesday, October 6 at the Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna.
