Selma H. Boehne was a native of the District of Columbia. She was a charter member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Silver Spring. In 1920, she married John William Boehne, who became the Congressional Representative for Indiana from 1931 to 1943. He was a member of the Democrat Party and died in 1973. She died at the age of 101 on January 8, 1998 at Holy Cross Hospital. She was a resident of Charter House in Silver Spring. Survivors included two sons of Silver Spring and Rockville; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her twin sister, Hortense Heitmuller, with whom she lived in Charter House; a brother, Theodore Boehne, of the District of Columbia.
