Our beloved Arnold of Roseburg, Oregon passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at home, with his loving daughter and four of his grandchildren.

Arn was born March 11, 1927, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada to Thomas Arnold Rankin and Annabel Cashmore.

Arn married his sweetheart, Mildred Banks, on July 7, 1959, in Detroit, Michigan. Where do we begin to tell of how great their love was, as Arn and Millie’s sweet love story was older than the Sea. After being introduced to the Gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by a friend, Truman Lynch and the Spirit bearing witness of its truthfulness, Arn and Millie were sealed in the Oakland, California LDS temple for time and all Eternity.

Arn was passionate about genealogy and felt blessed to serve in the Medford, Oregon LDS Temple. He loved to commune with nature through hiking, fishing and working on his land. Arn cherished his animals, especially his dog Sheba. He was a collector of knives, ducks and an occasional flamingo. Among Arns most precious memories and stories were those he shared with his sweetheart, Millie, traveling through the US and Canada.

Arn loved being surrounded by his grand and great-grandchildren and is surely enjoying his reunion with loved ones above.

Arnold is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Henry of Roseburg; grandchildren, Celeste, Jason, Raymond, Melissa, Matthew, Stephanie, Jeremy, and Katelyn; and 24 great-grandchildren , Kimberly, Brenden, Austin, Dakota, Keely, BrieOcea, Lucas, OcieAna, Hope, Mateo, Tajan, Zayden, Jehtix, Isaiah, Nicholas, Jaycen, Bryten, Aviel, Araceli, Oliver, Zachariah, Madix, Aliyah and Luna.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at 9 a.m. at Newton Creek Ward Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Roseburg, Oregon. Place of Rest will be at Valley View Cemetery in Sutherlin, Oregon.
