McGlin, Patrick F.

Patrick F. McGlin, age 76, a Branch resident, died Monday, June 22, 2015 at North Ridge Medical & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc.

He was born on March 18, 1939 in Manitowoc, son of the late David and Francis (Budysz) McGlin. Patrick was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, Class of 1957. On October 28, 1961 he married the love of his life, Sandra Halderson at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Patrick was Vice President of Sales at U.S. Oil, Kaukauna, in the tire division until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved being a father, husband, grandfather and great grandfather. Pat had a lifelong passion for baseball. Following high school, he was selected by the Milwaukee Braves to the state Silver Sluggers all-star team as a 2nd basemen. Later he would be invited to the Braves training camp. Years later, Pat coached his son and dozens of other youth in the Branch Pony program where the team won several championships. He remained a true blue Cubs fan to the end. Pat and Sandy spent their winters in Arizona and enjoyed traveling to many destinations.

Survivors include his wife: Sandy McGlin, Branch; three children and their spouses: LaVonne McGlin-Beecher, Pewaukee, Carrie and Dennis Boehmer, Plano, TX, Shawn and Cindi McGlin, Ankeny, IA; seven grandchildren: Allie, Sean and Aaron Beecher, Jonathan and Evan Boehmer, Reilly and Caden McGlin; one great granddaughter: Chloe Beecher; six sisters and two brothers-in-law: Connie Glysch, Dorothy Krauss, Donna Rice, Nancy and Wayne Krause, Jeanie and Dave Kaiser, Marcia McGlin; and three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law: Carol Zutz, Blake and Kayleen Halderson and Gail and Rick Konopacki. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents: David and Francis McGlin; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Alfred and Mabel Halderson and four brothers-in-law: Ronnie Kempka, Roger Rice, Alvin Glysch and Teddy Zutz.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Service will be the Rev. Scott Hirssig with entombment at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth, on Monday, June 29.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, from 9:00 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2015 until 10:45 a.m.
