Mrs Brown I knew her lived at 39 Crescent Road. She used to run a tuck shop from her kitchen in aid of St. George's church. She was keeper of the church keys for many years and it was her job to unlock the church for playgroup, scouts etc and relock the church after the meetings she did this for many years come rain, hail or shine, many a time my mother offered to lock the church when the weather was really bad and return the keys to her and she would always refuse saying it was her responsibility. Mrs Brown lived till she was 101 and I can well remember her turning 99 on 9.9.9.
