Norma Brines, 88, of Riverton died on Sunday, October 4, 2015, at her home.

Norma L. Hyatt was born on March 3, 1927 in Ansley, NE to Jewell Emmit and Lulu M. (Allen) Hyatt. Her family moved to Wyoming in 1934 living in Newcastle and Moorcroft before moving to Riverton in 1939. She graduated from Riverton High School with the class of 1947.

On September 2, 1947 in Riverton, WY she married Laverne “Bud” Edward Brines. Together they raised five children, three boys and two girls. Laverne passed away in 1977 and she continued to live and work in Riverton.

She was a member of the Riverton Rebekah Lodge, the Garden Club, and was the treasure for the Odd Fellows for 10 years.

She worked as a cook for School District 25 at Lincoln Elementary School and cleaned the Work Force office and others for over fourteen years.

She enjoyed gardening, sewing, hunting, fishing, canning, and cooking.

She is survived by her sons, James Lynn Brines and Jay Dee Brines; her daughters, Joyce E. (Eugene) Raymond and Jeanne A. (Sterling) Roberts; her brothers, Dale (Pauline) Hyatt and Lyle (Carol) Hyatt; her seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Laverne “Bud” Brines; her parents, Jewell and Lulu Hyatt; her son, Johnnie Alvin Brines; her sister, Naoma Hyatt; and her brothers, Dean Hyatt and Darrell Hyatt.
