She was the only sister to William McCoy Thompson Sr, James O'Brien Thompson, & Robert "Bobby" Thompson.
She was a Mother to: Karen Fouraker Williams, Barbara Bennett D'Spain & Marilyn Bennett Angle.

Mary Dorthea Thompson Fouraker was born in Titusville, Florida in 1925 to Emmie Lillian Hutto Thompson and James McCoy Thompson.
Mary was famous for having the ability to read the entire newspaper at the age five. She moved to Cocoa at the age of nine and attended Cocoa High in 1941, where she was a Drum Majorette. She graduated at age 16, the youngest person in Cocoa High history to do so at that time.

Mary began her career in civil service at Banana River Naval Air Station, known today as Patrick AFB. She was the longest employed person in PAFB history when she left in 1970. Mary transfered to Ent AFB in Colorado Springs working for the Aerospace Defense Command and NORAD, where she was awarded "Outstanding Air Force Administration Officer" in 1975, she transfered to Air Force Headquarters at the Pentagon, as Chairperson whose mission was to convert 48,000 Air Force offices from paper documents to electronic information handling. In 1979, she returned to Cocoa, when she joined NASA as Records Management Officer. Mary received recognition from NASA National Archives, Washington D.C. for the "best records management program they had ever seen". She won numerous awards at NASA including "Exceptional Achievement". Mary retired in 1993 after 46 Years of civil service.

Mary D. Thompson Fouraker, 82, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 26, 2008.

She was loved by everyone. She was always there for her Family & Friends no matter how far or what the problem was. And a lot of her family will tell you that she was an outstanding cook. She was a great person to know, and loved by all. We all miss her...
