MADISON – Virginia Atkins King, 89, died Saturday, October 10, 2015, at Morehead Nursing Center.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 13, 2015, from 12:30 p.m. until
1:45 pm at Colonial Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. Burial will be held at Mayodan Municipal Cemetery.
Born on January 5, 1926, to the late Tyre and Clemmie Atkins, Mrs. King was a native of Surry County. She was a member of Piedmont Baptist Church and retired from Burlington Industries.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everette King; three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include sons, Reverend Duane King and wife, Wanda, Mark King and wife, Vickey, Barry “Petey” King and wife, Jeanette and Jan Atkins; sister, Rachel Moore; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
