SOCALL, Arthur A. - Age 73, of Holly, died Sunday, June 16, 2002 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Wednesday, June 19, 2002 at Dryer Funeral Home, Holly with Father John West officiating.
Burial will be in White Chapel Cemetery. Mr Socall was born in Detroit on September 12 1928, the son of Arthur August and Louise (Lehmann) Socall. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Surviving are: his companion Janine Wheeler of Holly; 7 children, Dean Arthur (Rita) Socall of OK, Caroline (Alan) Garman of IL, Arthur August Socall III of TX, Deborah (Dr. Tim) Lahood of IL, Lynnette (James Wennmacher of IL, Denise (David) Turner of IL, and Elizabeth Socall of TX; 18 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 2 sisters Eleanor (Warren) Lapham of Farmington Hills and Shirley (Fred) Rastenburg of Warren; second wife Donna (Ron) Schmidt of IL; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his son Frederick and brother Larry Socall. Memorial donations may be made to American Heart Assoc. or a VFW Post of your choice.

PEORIA - Arthur A. Socall, 73, of Holly, Mich., formerly of Peoria, died at 7:52 a.m. Sunday, June 16, 2002, at Genesys Health Park in Grand Blanc, Mich. He was born Sept. 12, 1928, in Detroit to Arthur August and Louise Lehmann Socall.
Surviving are two sons, Dean (and Rita) of Oklahoma and Arthur III of Texas; five daughters, Caroline (and Alan) Garman, Deborah (and Dr. Tim) LaHood, Lynette (and James) Wennmacher, Denise (and David Turner, all of Illinois, and Elizabeth Socall of Texas; two sisters, Eleanor Lapham and Shirley Rastenburg, both of Michigan; 18 grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Frederick. A Korean War veteran, he had served in the Army and the Navy. He formerly worked for Stinnett Window Co. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Dryer Funeral Home in Holly. Visitation will be private. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Cemetery in Troy, Mich. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or any Veterans of Foreign Wars post.
