George I. Cournoyer, 76, of 166 Grove St., a foundry worker for the former Draper Corp., Hopedale, Mass., for 29 years before retiring in 1972, died yesterday at the Landmark Medical Center-Woonsocket Unit. He was the husband of Rita (Cote) Cournoyer.

Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Azedas and Rosalda (Desmarais) Cournoyer.

Besides his wife he leaves a son, Robert Cournoyer of Cumberland; two daughters, Jeanne Duguay of Smithfield and Irene Cournoyer, at home; a sister, Yvette Denoncourt of Cheyenne, Wyo.; three grandchildren and a great-grandson.

The funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from The Menoche Funeral Home, 76 Providence St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 at Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Church, Park Avenue. Burial will be in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham,, Mass.
