Storm Lake Buena Vista Vidette - Aug 4, 1911 page 7 - The community in Grant township were shocked to hear Monday morning of the sudden death of Elof Larson, one of the oldest residents of the neighborhood.

He had been visiting at the home of V.E. Woolson the day previous and was taken ill with paralysis while eating supper there. He became unconscious almost immediately and a doctor was called but it proved that nothing could be done to stay the grim messenger. Death occurred at half past twelve Monday morning. The deceased had suffered a paralytic stroke two and a half years ago.

Elof H Larson was born near Christianstad, Sweden, Sept 12, 1847 and with his family emigrated to this country in 1868, settling in Illinois where he worked on various farms there until 1886 when he came to make his home with his sister, Mrs C.A. Swan in Grant township, where he has since lived. Mr Larson was industrious, generous and honest and enjoyed a large circle of friends.

He leaves to mourn, three sisters in various cities, two nephews and 4 nieces in Grant township.

Funeral services conducted by the Rev Green, occurred at Truesdale church on Tuesday. Burial took place in the Storm Lake cemetery.
