Mr. Campbell studied at the University of Arizona, graduated from Stanford and held an MA degree, was boys' vice-principal at Kern Avenue Junior High School and principal of Florence Nightingale Junior High School (1941). He was principal of Emerson Junior High School, West Los Angeles, during the 1950s. He had worked for a year as a reporter on the Los Angeles Times. He composed humorous songs and could accompany himself on the piano.
