Albert Carl Kuhles, 82, of Hoopeston, passed away at 6:49 P.M. Tuesday October 13, 2015 at Watseka Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Watseka, Illinois.

He was born March 2, 1933 in Chicago, the son of Carl and Mary (Michaels) Kuhles. He married Barbara Coles on June 30, 1963 in Braceville, Illinois. She survives.

He is also survived by two sons, Kenneth (Wanda) Kuhles and Ray Kuhles; two sisters, Alice (Howard) Oswald and Carol (John) Van Dyke; three granddaughters; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Al served in the United States Army, where he received the National Defense Service, UN Service and Korean Service medals. He was the owner of Skater’s Paradise in Hoopeston for seventeen years. Al worked as a Draftsman at Caterpillar until his retirement. He later worked at Food Machinery Corp. in Hoopeston. He also worked as a bus driver for the Hoopeston Multi-Agency. Al was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hoopeston. He enjoyed helping with church repairs and volunteering his time at the Multi-Agency Teen Reach Program.
