" SS Windermere, built ...... was a British steamer of 2.292 tons.
On June 27th, 1916, Windermere, on a voyage from Tyne to Savona with a cargo of coal, was sunk by the German submarine U-35 (Lothar von Arnauld de la Perière), 58 miles SSE of Port Mahon. 12 persons were lost."
