Born in Bravo, he worked in construction for numerous years, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Surviving are his daughters, Ida Carroll of Martin, and Donna Brummitt of Fennville; four grandsons; brother, Tom and Sherry Barnes of Holland; sister, Letty Stille of Holland; nephews, nieces and cousins.
Graveside services with military honors will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visiting is 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Mulder Chapel, Dykstra Funeral Homes, 188 W. 32nd St.
