He was preceded in death by his parents and Brother-in-Law, Salvatore Poma.
Mr. Bowler is survived by his brothers, John (Patricia), Edward, Michael and Thomas (Rose) and one sister, Mary Ann Poma as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Bowler associated with McDonalds founder Ray Kroc while in Chicago and moved to Lansing to help establish East Lansing's first McDonalds in 1957. He later formed a business relationship with Tom Monahan, founder of Dominos Pizza which led to a successful career in the food service industry. He served as Operations Manager of McDonalds and later became owner/operator of Domino's Pizza in East Lansing which became the Pizza Pit in the 70's.
He was a member of the Irish American club and the Church of the Resurrection. He was self educated, loved to travel, especially to Ireland, he also liked to study world history and American politics.
The Memorial Mass was celebrated Saturday May 7, 2011 at Church of the Resurrection, Lansing with Rev. William J. Koenigsknecht officiating.
