Simion Edward Blystone

Simion Edward Blystone, "Ed" was born in Texas City, Texas on January 25, 1924. He was the son of Robert and Eddie Ruth Blystone. His family moved to Baytown where Ed attended school and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1942. He soon began a career in the glass business, but then decided to join the U. S. Navy. Ed was enlisted in the Navy from 1943 to 1946 and spent his time at sea on the USS Idaho. After returning home, he resumed his passion in the glass business. Ed acquired the business of K&R Glass on Texas Ave and spent many years doing glass construction in the Baytown area during the growing years. He met and married Faye Lamb and had two sons, Richard and Rodney. Over the years Ed owned and operated glass businesses in Baytown, including Blystone Glass and Blystone Glass and Mirror. Ed attended Second Baptist Church for many years and was a devout believer throughout his entire life. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Morris Blystone, Chester Blystone; and sisters, Alice Norman, and Ruth Mclean. Ed is survived by his brother, Robert Blystone and wife Wanda; sons, Richard Blystone and wife Suzy, Rodney Blystone and wife Lydia. Grandchildren are Ryan Blystone, Karlee Blystone, Taylor Blystone, Hunter Blystone, Chris Turner and wife My, April Garrison and husband Clay, Darienne Pilarte, and Derrick Ramirez. Great grandchildren are Jacy, Ellie, Jackson, Natalie, and Sebastian. Ed Blystone passed early on October 7th with loved ones by his side. He will be deeply missed by family and those who knew him. A private graveside service will be at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, Baytown, TX 77521.
