Georgia Holt (sic Hoyt) James was born at 8 a.m. on June 19, 1936. She went home to be with the Lord at 11 a.m. Jan. 25, 1981, at the Osteopathic Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. She left behind her husband, Rex, her four daughters, Lori James Gorup and husband Gayln, Kansas City, Ks.; Linda James Stark and husband Tim, Springfield, Mo., and at home, Shirley and Barbara James; also her mother, Lucille Hoyt, Kansas City, Ks.; her father, Lester Hoyt, El Cajon, Ca.; her brother, Jack Hoyt, Kansas City, Ks., and her sister, Shirley Hoyt, also of Kansas City, Ks.
Georgia went to Kansas City from New Providence, Ia., where she was born and raised. She met her future husband Rex where they both worked at the Nu-Way DriveIn. They were united in marriage on Oct. 17, 1955. From this union came their four daughters. Through her married life Georgia also worked in Hospital Care and for 20 years worked as a grocery clerk. The last 5 years she was employed by the Balls Food Stores. As her daughters grew up, she coached her girls' basketball teams for several years in Kansas City, Ks. She also had a local Scout Troop. Georgia was raised in the Quaker Church, and attended in the Westlyn Church. For the last year she attended and was baptized in the First Assembly of God, Kansas City, Kansas.
Georgia was a good Christian woman who loved God's Word. She was viewed by all as hard worker, a good wife, and mother, and a loyal and true friend; one who could always bring happiness and cheer to all those around.

Georgia was my wife Barbara's mother. I never had the chance to know her, but I know she was a wonderful person and I am thankful to her for my wonderful wife.
