Erma Leona Schenck, 73, of Hermann, Missouri, passed away Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015. at Hermann Frene Valley Health Center.
Erma was born in Blue Ridge, Georgia, on Jan. 20, 1942, a daughter to Bessie (Wilson) and Jewell Sparks. She was united in marriage to Doug Schenck on May 4, 1962 in Atlanta.
She was a member of Zion-St. Paul UCC Church in Bay, Missouri, and belonged to their Women's Fellowship. She initiated the popular Mother's Day Luncheon at Zion-St. Paul UCC Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bessie (Wilson) and Jewell Sparks and one brother, Irvin Sparks.
Her survivors include her husband, Doug Schenck; two daughters, Gayla Otten and husband Robert of Waxahachie, Texas, and Donna Bohr -Thompson and husband Al of Columbia, Missouri; one brother, Kenneth Sparks and wife Jessie of North Charleston, South Carolina; two grandchildren, Mallory Hancock of Springfield, Missouri, and Genevieve Bohr of Columbia, Missouri; and one great-grandchild, Kai Hancock.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Oct. 5, 2015, at Zion-St.Paul UCC Church in Bay with the Rev. Darrel Deeker officiating. Burial was in the Zion Cemetery at Bay, Missouri.
Expressions of sympathy may be given to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
Arrangements under the direction of Gottenstroeter Funeral Home of Owensville, Missouri.
