Bruce A. Kinder, age 60, of Savanna, Illinois, died suddenly Sunday, May 21, 2006 at his home. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 25, 2006 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna. Reverend Michael Wey of the First Presbyterian Church of Savanna will officiate. Friends may call 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at the Funeral Home in Savanna. Burial will take place in Spring Lake Cemetery, Savanna. Full Military Rites will be accorded by the Savanna VFW Post #2223. A Memorial fund has been established in honor of Bruce. Bruce was born November 24, 1945, the son of Paul Willard and Doris June (Beard) Kinder in Lynwood, California. He attended Jordan High School in Long Beach California, graduating Class of 1964. Bruce served in United States Army during the Vietnam War. For a short time he was stationed at the Savanna Army Depot. After his active service he returned to the Savanna area and married Linda Hubble in Mt. Carroll, Illinois, on October 5, 1968.Bruce worked in communications as a Teletype Operator and a Postal Carrier at the Savanna Army Depot, retiring after thirty years of service. He had a great fondness for dogs, especially Labrador Retrievers.Bruce held membership in the American Legion, the Billiards Championship Association, the Savanna Pool Association, Charlie's Pool Team and the North American Gun Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, playing cards and of course a good game of pool.Bruce will be deeply missed by his wife, Linda of Savanna; four sons, Tracy Kinder of Phoenix, Arizona, Marty (Betsy) Kinder, Ty (Stephanie) Kinder and Tony Kinder, all of Savanna; seven grandchildren, Andrea, Heidi, Michael, Brady, Brandon, Bryson and Nathaniel; one brother, Richard (Patty) Kinder of Trinidad, Colorado and one sister, Linda Johnson of San Diego, California. Bruce also served in the role of a father to Mike, Todd and Lonnie Hubble. Bruce is preceded in death by his parents.
