Marcus LeRoy, Mary Jane Bailey and their two sons arrived in Port Richey in the fall of 1917 from Jackson, Michigan. Roy was a carpenter and busied himself erecting their home. They bought the neighboring small hotel and named it Bay Lea Hotel and they operated it until their two children, Wilfred and Betty, finished their college educations. After Mr. and Mrs. Bailey's children were grown, they sold the hotel and built a home on the Boulevard that fronts the Cotee River. They are buried in the Pine Hill Cemetery beside their son Wilfred who died at the age of 27. After retiring Roy engaged in woodcraft in which he was proficient. He was active in the Masons and his wife Mary Jane was in the Eastern Star.
