Margaret "Susie" Dalansky, 84, of Mt. Pleasant, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015, in Excela Health Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. She was born Aug. 22, 1931, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late John E. Smith and Sophie Boppe. She worked and retired from Connellsville Sportswear as a seamstress/supervisor. Along with being a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, she was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates fan and a former member of the Bullskin Township Senior Center. She is survived by brother-in-law, Ben Dalansky and his wife, Juliana, of Scottdale; sister-in-law, Betty Dalansky, of Altoona; nieces, Christine Beaver, Carla Rosenthal, Karen Wasil and Julie Galando; and nephews, Charles Freda, Kenneth Dalansky, Mark Dalansky, Gary Dalansky, David Dalansky, Ronald Dalansky, Steven Dalansky and Paul Dalansky. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Dalansky; half brothers, Henry Smith and Phillip Smith; and a cousin, Mary Lou Macurak.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME INC., 418 N. Pittsburgh St., Connellsville, where prayers of transfer will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville, with Father Gerry Juarez as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Scottdale.
