Former Bear Lake Resident Dies
Bear Lake—Mrs. Ida A. Kingscott died suddenly at Munson Hospital in Traverse City on Monday, April 10, 1972.
She was born the oldest to Mr. and Mrs. B.L. Kortz in Springdale, April 19, 1895. She was married in 1918 to Edgar J. Kingscott and to this union four daughters were born and two step daughters all of whom survive her. They are Mrs. J.B. (Violet) Hayslett of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Mrs. Walter Williams (Ardythe) of Traverse City, Mrs. Howard Cram (Clara Jean) of Williamsburg, Mrs. Roger Kephart (Barbara) of Traverse City, Mrs. Donald Shreve (Frances) of Big Rapids and Mrs. J.B. Robbins (Esther) of Traverse City. She is also survived by one sister Mrs. Arthur Oake of Bear Lake; 20 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Mr. and Mrs. Kingscott lived for many years in Bear Lake moving to Traverse City in 1929 where both were employed at Traverse State Hospital. Mr. Kingscott died in 1947. Mrs. Kingscott retired from the hospital in 1960 and has since lived in Traverse City where she was an active member of Nazarene Church, State Retirees' Assn. and W.C.T.U. Funeral services were Thursday, April 13th at 3 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home here, the Rev. Earl Kilpatrick officiating.
A Memorial is being established in her memory for the patient fund at the Traverse City State Hospital. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
