Lucy's aunt born circa 1841 was also named Lucy Cynthia Romine.

Our Lucy was the first wife of Avery Eldridge. They were married in Lauderdale county, Alabama September 11, 1892.

On the 1880 census, (when Lucy was only 7) the family lived in Alabama. Her father Peter Franklin Romine, Jr is 44 years old and nearly blind. He is listed as a farmer. Balys Weathers, a 20 year old nephew is labeled a farm laborer. They were the only two out of nine working outside the home. Peter, Jr's parents, Peter, Sr. age 85 and Sarah Rose Romine age 80, live with them.

Peter, Sr. was born 1795 in Tennessee and was a Private in the 2nd Regiment of the West Tennessee Militia during the war of 1812. He would have been around 17 when it started and around 20 when it ended. He married Sarah Ann Rose of North Carolina on Aug. 27, 1818. Peter, Sr. and Sarah appear to have lived in and are buried in Rogersville, Alabama. According to records her parents were Sarah Jane "Sally" Summers Rose and Abner Rose, married on Nov. 26, 1785 in Surry, NC.

Sarah Jane "Sally" Summers Rose (Lucy's great grandmother) was born Aug 8, 1765 in Stafford, Va and died Sept 25, 1835 in Surry, NC

Sally's parents names are Robert, Sr. and Phebe Beals Summers.

Some paperwork has Lucy listed as being buried at Romine Cemetery in Rogersville, Al., but this hasn't been verified. Her grave was not found with a physical search of the cemetery, although many markers are no longer legible.
