MARBLEHEAD - H. Allen Durkee, 72, of 40 Foster St., president of Durkee-Mower Marshmallow Fluff Co., Lynn, died yesterday at his home.

Born in Lynn, he had lived here for the past 17 years.

He served in France in World War I as a second lieutenant with the 101st Field Artillery of the Yankee Division.

He was a past president of the Lynn Rotary Club, past chairman of the Great Lynn Red Cross, a trustee of the Lynn Five Cents Savings Bank, and a director of the Lynn Boys' Club.

Also, he was a member of the American Legion, Tedesco Country Club, Swampscott Ionic Club, Swampscott Yacht Club, the Bald Peak Colony Club of New Hampshire, and the Hole In The Wall Golf Club, Naples, Fla.

Mr. Durkee leaves his wife, Dorothea (Bruce) Durkee; three sons, Bruce, Donald and Lawrence, all of Marblehead; and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Unitarian Universalist Church, Lynn.
