BESSIE M. SHRONTZ ROBERTS-WRIGHT was a hard working, multi-faceted, talented Idaho author and pioneer. Her life time goal was to celebrate her 100th Birthday... thus, on May 23, 2005, she waved and said, "GOODBYE EVERYBODY" and died 11 and one-half hours later.
Bessie received her education at the following: Kindergarten in Centralia, Kansas; and elementary in Oakley, Idaho. She then went to work for Western Union as a telegraph operator in Rupert, Idaho. Studied millinery arts, Salt Lake City, Utah; landscape architecture, New York; studied French & German at CSI; and was a constant student of business, spending 75 years marketing horticulture commodities to the retail trade.
From the day she was married to LOYD K. WRIGHT, she worked side by side with him in the nursery industry.
Bessie was the Sec./Tres. of KIMBERLY NURSERIES from 1928 to 1978.
Bessie was a Member of the Kimberly Methodist Church and taught Sunday School there for 10 years. After moving to Twin Falls, she attended Rock Creek Community Church. She also was a member of several other organizations including Eastern Star, Hagerman Historical Society, Magic Valley Gem Club, Snake River Archaeological Society, Idaho State Archaeological Society and Friends of the Sticker Ranch.
Her other interests included flintknapping, Scrapbooking, traveling, reading and writing history books.
Surviving Bessie is her son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Elaine (Jacobs) Wright; her grandchildren, Doug (Julie) Wright, David (Sherry) Wright and Teresa Wright (Andy) Roach; and her five great-grandchildren, Cole, Janelle, Jessica, Morgan and Katy.
Her Parents, brother, Raymond Roberts; sister, Ruth McDonald; and her beloved husband, Loyd K. Wright (1981) preceded her in death.
A catered luncheon to honor Bessie will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery and all are invited to attend. A graveside Memorial will begin promptly at 2 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park with Pastor Dale Metzger officiating.
{Bessie's son, Jack Wright, did the honors of burying his Mother's Urn himself during the gravesite rites.}
Services & Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home of Twin Falls, Idaho.
BESSIE M. SHRONTZ ROBERTS-WRIGHT will be sorely missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing & loving her...
