neighborhood, an aunt of Mrs. J. R. Bott of Hooper, was held last
Friday morning from her late home at 11:00 o'clock, and at 12:00 at
the Danish Church nearby, Rev. Harlt of Davey, Nebr., having charge
of the services at both places. Interment was in the church
cemetery.
Mary Sofie Andersen was born in Flemtoft, Denmark, September 14,
1859, and death came to her Monday, January 21, 1918, at the age of
58 years, 5 months and 7 days. A stroke of paralysis which she
suffered on January 17 was the direct cause of her demise.
She came to America with her parents in 1868, settling near Admah,
Washington county. She was married to James Andersen on December
29, 1879. To this union were born five children, four now being in
the immediate home neighborhood. One child died in infancy. The
living, who, with the bereft husband, are left to mourn the loss of
a very beloved mother and wife are, Mrs. James Olson, Albert and
Julius Andersen and Miss Marie Andersen.
Mrs. Andersen was a most estimable lady and held in the highest
esteem by all who knew her. The sympathy of the community goes out
to the sorrowing ones during this sad hour of bereavement.
