William Theodore Day Obituary
William Theodore Day, 63, a native of Tucker County and for several years a resident of Washington D.C., died unexpectedly at 1:45 P.M., on Saturday, July 19, in Washington. He became suddenly ill and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Casualty Hospital.
Day was born at Gladwin, a son of the late Lloyd and Minnie Long Day. He was married to the former Nellie Hinkle who survives in Hambleton.
Day worked and lived in Washington for 20 years, where he was employed by the Grunley Walsh Construction Co as a carpenter. He moved to his former home in Hambleton this past April in anticipation of retirement in the near future but continued working in Washington.
Day was a member of Pythagoras Lodge 127 AF&AM of Parsons; Parsons Chapter 91, Order of the Eastern Star; a member of the Carpernter's Union 132 of Washington and a member of the Presbyterian Church. In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters; Mrs. Eloise Bernier of Coventry(?), R.H. and Mrs. Peggy Disney of Silver Spring, MD, three sons, Kelly Day of Parsons, Kenneth Day of Silver Spring, and William D. Day of Rockville, MD; one brother, Charles P. Day of Glen Burnie, MD; four sisters, Mrs. Hazel Armentrout of Tacoma Park, MD, Mrs Mabel Hull of Napa Valley, Calif. , Mrsl Elva Parsons of Martinsburg, W.VA, and Mrs. Marie Hertig of Barboursville and 19 grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted from the Greenlief Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 23, at 2:00 PM. with the Rev. Meade Gutshall offciating; Ritualistic rites were conducted at the graveside by Pythagoras Lodge 128. Burial was in the Parsons City Cemetery.
