John Weslie Jenkins, 75, of 283 Pine St., a retired carpenter and resident of Grand Junction for 18 years, died at 5 p.m. Friday at Ospeopathic Hospital following an Illness of seven months.
He was born March 31, 1889 at Harrison, Ark. He Spent his Childhood in Arkansas and Oklahoma and moved to Leadville in 1934. He was married at Leadville on July 24, 1937, to Louise (Guenon) Propernick. The Couple lived in Leadville until moving to Grand Junciton in 1947.
He was a member of the IOOF lodge in Grand Junction.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Eldon, serving with the U.S. Air Force at Ent AFB, Colorado Springs, and Donald and Kenneth, both of Grand Junction, a stepson. Frank Propernick, of Gilman; a stepdaughter , Mrs Lysle Satterfield of Avon, and seven grandchildren.
