Briggs, Jessie R. (nee Pennington)--
August 2, 1983, Age 84 at Saint Joseph Hospital. Mother of (Lola) Mrs. Fred Rolando of Coal City, (Geneva) Mrs. Richard Shaw of Shorewood, (Betty) Mrs. Ben Spisak of Somonauk, IL., (Eleanor) Mrs. Frank Wenckus of Aurora, (Marjorie) Mrs. Daniel Lamping of Hewitt, MN., (Geraldine) Mrs. Lester Williams of Joliet, Robert (Una) of Crest Hill, Merle (Eleanor) of Braidwood, Bill (Joan) of New Lenox, Arthur (Barbara) Briggs of Channahon; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Arthur L. Briggs; several brothers and sisters. Born in Missouri and lived in Joliet most of her life. She was a former employee of the Louis Joliet Hotel. Funeral services from the Haley Funeral Home August 5 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Donald McKay officiating. Interment Plainfield Cemetery, Plainfield. Visitation Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Ottawa United Methodist Church or the Heart Fund would be appreciated.
