TOULON - Louise E. Turngren, 83, a resident of Toulon Health Care Center, formerly of Kewanee, died at 4:38 a.m., Friday, July 21, 2006 at the Toulon Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11a.m., Tuesday, July 25,2006 at the Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Rev. Jerry Rafalko will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens, Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to the Toulon Health Care Center Activity Fund.
Mrs. Turngren was born February 12, 1923 in Niota, IL, the daughter of Leo T. and Helen L. (Davis) Brand. She married Charles D. Hood, Sr. . She then married Irving W. Turngren on October 7, 1950 in Kewanee. He preceded her in death on June 4, 1957. She is survived by 2 sons, Dan (Sarah) Hood of Toulon, IL, Berton ‘Jimmy' (Carmelina) Hood of Norfolk, VA, 4 grandchildren, Shawn (Marjorie) Hood, Bryan (Brooke) Hood, Daniela Hood & Tricia (Dakeem) Coleman, 5 great grandchildren, Conner, Dante, Andrew, Ariel & Amber, 1 brother, Bryce (Dorothy) Brand of Peoria, IL and 1 sister, Barb Byrne of River Forrest, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother in infancy, a daughter in infancy, 3 brothers, Bert Brand, Wayne Brand & Neville Brand, step-father, James T. Milnes, 1 step brother, Bernard Milnes and 1 step sister, Jean Funk.
Mrs. Turngren graduated from Kewanee High School in 1941. She had worked as a nurses aid at Leisure Hills Nursing Home in Kewanee.
