Charles Edwin "Ed" Binns, 82, of Brownsville, Pa., (Low Hill), died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, in his home.

He was born Nov. 9, 1933, in Low Hill, Pa., a son of the late Harry U. and Jane Williams Binns.

Mr. Binns was a Tipple worker for over 18 years with Chartiers Coal Mine. He was also a School Bus Driver for over 45 years, having last been employed by Brownsville Bus line and retired in 1995. Mr. Binns also owned and operated Binns Fix It Shop for 50 years, specializing in small engine repairs.

He was the Sexton of the Westland Cemetery for over 50 years.

Mr. Binns was a longtime member of the National Pike, Steam, Gas and Horse Association and the Shaw-Du-All Tractor Club.

He was a member of the First Christian Church in Republic.

On June 17, 1978, he married Sandra Ludwig Binns, who survives. Also surviving are five sons, Harry E. Binns and his wife, Bev of Kentucky, Ronald L. Binns and his wife, Louise of Ohio, Richard D. Binns and his wife, Sue of Low Hill, Pa., Jerry L. Gagnon Jr., and his wife, Jackie of Denbo, Pa., and Fred J. Gagnon and his wife, Becky of Virginia; four daughters, Wilda J. Ulery and her husband, DeWayne of West Brownsville, Pa., Rogenna E. Watters and her husband, Bob of Eighty Four, Pa., Andrea Baumqardner and her husband, Ollie of Denbo, Pa., and Tammy L. Rasel and her husband, Fred of Lone Pine, Pa.; 27 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one brother, James W. Binns of Ohio.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, are his first wife, Marcy L. Sargeant Binns, who died December 22, 1977, a son and daughter, who died in infancy, and two brothers, Albert R. Binns and William W. Binns.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday in John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 27, with the Rev. Norman C. Hunt officiating. Interment will be in Westland Cemetery, Brownsville.
