Mary Katherine Adams

Mary (Marie) Katherine Adams was born on Jan. 16, 1915, in Howells, Neb.

Her soul passed from this world on June 3, 2003, in Billings, at the age of 88.

Her parents were Marie Katherine and Louis Stok. When Mary was about 1 year old, the family moved to the Moorcroft, Wyo., area and homesteaded. She went to school and helped raise the family there until she attended beauty school in Sheridan, Wyo. She married Robert Louis Adams in 1942. Mary worked in and owned a beauty salon in Newcastle, Wyo., for over 50 years. In 1991, she moved to Oregon, living near her son and daughter-in-law. For the past 11 months, she has lived in Billings.

She survived three brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her son; daughter-in-law; four grandchildren. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends.

A memorial service will be held at Westpark Village at 2 p.m. Friday, June 6. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, Montana Chapter, 550 N. 31st St., Suite 103, Billings, MT 59101 or Big Sky Hospice, PO Box 35033, Billings, MT 59107.
