Veronica (Schuld) Seidl (1909 - 1985)

Services for Mrs. Wendelin M. (Veronica) Seidl, 76, of 607 S. Vine Ave., who died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Hospital Hospice Care Unit, where she was admitted July 12, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John’s Catholic Church.

Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today and again on Thursday until time of services at the Rembs/Kundinger Chapel. St. John’s Parish Council of Catholic Women, Missionary Society and Third Order of St. Francis will have a combined Rosary at 3 p.m. today. There will be a St. John’s Prayer service at 7:30 p.m. today.

The Revs. Donald F. Wilger and Steven J. Brice, of St. John’s Catholic Church, and the Rev. Anthony W. Fischer will officiate at a concelebrated Mass. Helen Brinkmann will be organist. Pallbearers will be Thomas Umhoefer, Richard Tiegen, Al Szmanski, John Seidl, Clifford Fellows, and Edward Zierke. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

The former Veronica Schuld was born on January 23, 1909 in Loyal, to John and Anna (Bauer) Schuld. She attended schools in Colby, then moved to Marshfield where she graduated from McKinley High School in 1927. She was married to Wendelin M. Seidl on June 24, 1930 at St. John’s Catholic Church. They observed their 55th wedding anniversary June 24, He survives. She moved to Marshfield as a young woman and had lived here since.

She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, P.C.C.W., Missionary Society, and Third Order of St. Francis. Survivors besides her husband include two sons, Donald, Rockford, Illinois and Richard, La Crosse; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Mary Anne) Nelson, Madison, and Mrs. Paul (Lois) Umhoefer, Marshfield; one brother, George Schuld, Great Bend, Kansas; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents and three brothers.
