Abbey, Richard M. age 83, of Naperville, formerly of Hannibal, MO, Chicago, and Maywood. Born March 27, 1924, to the loving parents of the late Humphrey and Anna Abbey. He left this life to be with his Lord, Sunday, May 27, 2007. Loving husband of the late Loyce (nee Steward) wedded 56 years, dear father of Rhonda (Robert) Byrd, Gloria (Rev. Nolan) McCants and the late Deborah. He leaves to cherish his memory, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters and many nieces and nephews. Visitation Friday, June 1st, 6 to 8 p.m., at Overman-Jones Funeral Home, 15219 S. Joliet Rd., Plainfield, IL. Additional Visitation Saturday, June 2nd, 10 to 11 a.m., at Progressive Life Giving Word Cathedral, 4500 S. Frontage Rd., Hillside, IL, 60162. Funeral services to follow at 11 a.m., with Paster Nolan McCants, officiating. Interment to follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Hillside, IL.
