BRENHAM - Effie Elizabeth Lundberg, 88, of Brenham, died July 18, 1999, in Carousel Manor in Brenham.

Mrs. Lundberg was born March 14, 1911, in San Marcos, Texas, the daughter of George and Lula Dixon Bennett. She was educated in San Marcos. On December 7,1942, she was married to William Lundberg in San Antonio, Texas. Their vows were renewed in Mormon Temple in Logan, Utah.

Mrs. Lundberg was retired from Southwestern Bell, having worked as the chief operator at Bergstrom Air Force Base and in Texas City for 41 years. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers Association. Mrs. Lundberg was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she was in Relief Society. She was a loving wife and was strongly devoted to her family.

Survivors include her husband, William Lundberg of Brenham; son and daughterin-law, Roy and Norma Lundberg
of Santa Fe, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Lundberg and Brian Lundberg, both of Houston; and sisters, Lois Eskew of Austin and Nora Bel Peck of Houston.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, four brothers and three sisters.

The funeral service will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in
Memorial Oaks Chapel with Del Var Petersen officiating. Graveside service will be in Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, Texas at 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
