Orpha June Sasser Peters, age 76 of London, wife of Arthur Peters, departed this life Friday, October 23 at her residence. Orpha was born May 14, 1939 in Sasser, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tollie & Flora Sasser; two sisters, Jewell Rush and Emily Sasser. She is survived by her loving husband, Arthur Peters of 59 years. Arthur & Orpha were married October 4, 1956 in Richmond, Kentucky. She is also survived by one brother, Tollie Sasser Jr.; seven children, Anthony Clark Peters, Sandra Miller and husband Rick Watson, Sue Ann Peters, Stella Peters, Evan Peters and wife Linda, Patti Williams and husband Bobby, Kenneth Peters and wife Sharlotte; eight grandchildren, Bradley and Brandon Williams, Anthony Peters, Caleb Peters, Kenya Manley and husband Michael, Jeanette Hudson and husband David, Andrew Miller, Ashleigh Hankins; one great-granddaughter, Alaina Hudson; four nieces, Kim and Kay Peters, Tammy and Flora Rush; one nephew, Jim Rush. Orpha was a member of Martin’s Creek Baptist Church. She was of the Baptist faith and was baptized at 14 years of age. Orpha will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services for Orpha June Sasser Peters will be conducted on Sunday, October 25 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Bill Wagers officiating. Burial will follow in the Sasser Cemetery.
