Myers, Edwin F. "Ben." Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006 in St. Mary Catholic Church, Medford. The Reverend Mike Wheelahan will be the celebrant and Father Jerome Spexarth will be concelebrant. Interment will follow in Rosemound Cemetery, Medford. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006 in the Church. The arrangements are under the direction of Hills-Ely Funeral Home, Medford. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the U.S. Army from Fort Sill. Ben was born Feb. 20, 1926 in Jefferson, Okla., to James C. and Mary I. Huber Myers, and passed from this life Sunday afternoon, Aug. 6, 2006 in the Servant Living Center, Medford. He attended school at Jefferson. On Jan. 26, 1948, he married Martha Ella Franz in the Congregational Church in Medford. She died on March 16, 1985. Ben and Martha had one son, Dennis. On Nov. 24, 1990, he and Mildred F. Martin were married in St. Mark's Catholic Church in St. Mark's, Kan. and have made their home in Medford, Okla. He spent over nine years in the US Army in two different enlistments, as a medical aid. After serving in the military, they resided in Wichita for 35 years where he was employed at V.A. Hospital, Terrace Gardens Nursing Home, and the Osteopathic Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha; his parents; brothers, James, Taylor and Levi Myers; sisters, Ercel Nix, Fannie Tucker, Ada Cerday and Mary Rose. Ben is survived by his loving wife, Mildred of Medford; son, Dennis and wife, Beverly of Las Cruces, N.M.; granddaughter, Michelle Myers-Pagoria and husband, Matthew Pagoria of Aurora, Ill. Ben is also survived by sisters, Fern Powell of San Ramon, Calif. and June Williams of Santa Fe Springs, Calif; brothers, Daniel Myers of Edmond, Okla. and David Myers of Medford.
