Vernie Lewis Medlin, Jr. went to be with the Lord on October 21, 2015 in San Antonio, Texas.

He was born on December 17, 1932 in Mexico, to Vernie L. Medlin, Sr. and Victoria Banda Medlin.

Mr. Medlin was preceded in death by sisters, Beatrice Pozos, Lucia Woods, Lily Taylor, June Salas; brothers, Oscar, Melitón, Carlos, Roy and John Medlin; grandchildren, Jason & Jessica Black; and great grandchildren, Jeffrey & Jace.

Vernie, AKA "Chico" spent his childhood in Chamal, a rural farming community in Tamaulipas, Mexico. He moved to the United States as a teenager and resided in San Antonio, TX. He married Dolores Gorham and raised two daughters. He worked as a chauffeur for a taxi company for many years and retired at the age of 72.

Vernie was a loving father and grandfather, a caring brother and uncle, and a loyal friend. He will be missed by all.

SERVICES
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 from 6:00pm-9:00pm at Palm Heights Mortuary. The evening service will be at 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 9:00am at the funeral home chapel, with interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
