Mr. Schweder was a sheet metal worker for over 30 years. He worked for Seaman & Schuske; Beadnall; H.K. Quality Sheet Metal; Wilson-Wiepert; and retired from Hausman Sheetal Works in 1981.
Born Jan. 7, 1922, in St. Joseph, he lived in the French Bottoms with his family until moving to Andrew County in 1956.
He was a member of Green Valley Baptist Churd a 50-yer member of Sheet l Workers Local Union #2. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II.
He married Beverly M. Hutchison Nov. 7, 1042, in St. Joseph. She died March 10, 1997.
He also was preceded in death by his brother, Andrew Schweder and his sister, Mary Eiberger.
Survivors include son, Ronald a. Schweder, sons and daughters-in-law Edward A. and Carol Schweder, Timothy L. and Rayetta Schweder, all of St. Joseph, son and daughter-in-law, Danny L. Peggy Schweder, Amazonia, Mo., daughter and son-in-law, Pamela S. and John Volts, Savannah, Mo.; brothers, Henry Schweder, Los Angeles, Calif., and Carl Schweder, St. Joseph; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Friday at Meierhoffer Family Funeral Service, St. Joseph, Mo.
Interment: Ashland Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO.
Military services under the auspices of Pony Express American Legion Post 359.
