Margaret Gertrude "Maggie" (Tibbs) Tibbs was born on December 5, 1854 in Tennessee, and she was the daughter of Daniel A "D A" Tibbs (ca 1817–1897) and Elizabeth (Jennings) Tibbs (ca 1826– ). [Although the 1870 census has Maggie's father as David A Tibbs, the 1880 census has it as Daniel A Tibbs.]
Maggie was married on June 24, 1879 in Davidson County to John James "Jim" Tibbs (ca 1845–1894). [Maggie MIGHT have been married 1st to a H C Lyons.]
Living at #8 Academy Place, Nashville, she was 84 years old and a widow when she died at home of chronic heart disease on January 8, 1939.
Preceded in death by her husband, Maggie was survived by sons Charles Tibbs, H C Tibbs, James J Tibbs and Walter Tibbs, four grandchildren, a great-grandchild and by sisters Martha "Alice" (Tibbs) Chumbley (ca 1856–1941) and Miss Cordelia Bea "Cordie" Tibbs (1863–1953).
Funeral Services were held at Roesch-Charlton Company, and burial was two days later in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Nashville.
