"According to James' step-mothers,Helen"Della" Hubler Vardy's obituary which is dated 1933; James was not listed as a surviving child and knowing that David had 3 wives and 26 children it became a bit confusing as to what child belonged to what mother so we pretty much assumed until proven otherwise so with that being said based on the obit I now know James has to be the son of David and Clarissa "Clara" Confer not David and Helen Hubler";as per information shared here by FindAGrave Contributor-Martha Young (#46866924).

James' father,David Bearfield was married 3 times;1st to Louisa Teats,2nd to Clarissa Clara Confer and 3rd to Helen Della Hubler.

James was the brother of these known full siblings:-

~ Elizabeth Bearfield, 29 Dec 1920 - 18 Feb 1921.

James was later remarried to Ivy Pearl Myrtle on 23 July 1921.They adopted Frances Edgar Bearfield,15 Nov 1922 - 5 Jun 2011;Frances was the biological son of Clarence and Arvilla Johnson.

Please Note:-
The information listed in James' death certificate states that he was the son of David Bearfield & Helen Della Hubler Bearfield. Although other documents clearly point to the fact that he was in fact the son of David Bearfield & Clarissa "Clara" Confer.
