Mr. and Mrs. [William] Echtenkamp and their son, Harry, all of Fall Creek township, are home from a trip to Washington county, Nebraska. They were called thither, week before last, by the serious illness of the elder Mr. Echtenkamp's brother, Gottlieb Echtenkamp.

The party reached the sick man's bedside two days before his death, which occurred a week ago yesterday. The funeral was held on Wednesday, and was largely attended. Deceased was a prominent and influential resident of the county for the thirty years that had intervened since he left this county to make Nebraska his home.

At his death, he was aged 62 years, 5 months, and 28 days. Surviving are the widow, and fourteen children. One child died.
