Ronnie Bordelon, 69, died Friday, October 23, 2015 at his residence.

Graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 2PM at the Veale Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-7PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home.

Ronald James Bordelon was born on May 3, 1946 in Breckenridge to Marvin J. Bordelon and Clara L. Steele Bordelon.

Ronnie was a man of many words and a “unique” man. He classified himself as the “Iron Doctor” and “Master Blacksmith”. His livelihood was working with iron and metal. He was an expert welder, and “self-taught” auctioneer. He thrived in making guns and knives. One of his specialties was making roses and crosses. Every woman wanted a rose or cross. Ronnie Bordelon: An inspiration to everybody.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Betty Bordelon; daughter, Lynda Hinson and husband, Lonnie; sons, Trey Bordelon and wife, Jennifer and Marty Bordelon; grandchildren, Cage, Cindy and Gus Bordelon, Layni, Lynsi, Lonnie III, Kendalyn Hinson; and his “Button” Jaycee Bordelon; great-grandson, Kaelem “Podunkus” Hinson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clara and Jackie Bordelon. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. The family invites friends to leave a condolence or share a memory of Ronnie in the online guestbook at www.meltonkitchens.com.
