Mrs. Rufus C. Brown III, 54, of 1454 W. New York Ave., died Saturday at 8:05 p.m. at Mercy Hospital, following an extended illness..

The former Janet O'Leary was born in Chicago on May 3, 1911, daughter of John W. and Alice O'Leary, and was married to Rufus Bnwn in Lake Forest, Ill., on June 14, 1932. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Oshkosh Country Club.

Surviving are her husband, Rufus; three sons, Choate A. Brown, Vernon, Conn., Bruce Brown and John W. Brown, Oshkosh; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Timberlake, Naples, Fla and Miss Lillian OXeary, Denver, Colo.; one brother, John W. O'Leary, Tucson. Ariz.; and two grandchildren. Her parents preceded her in death.

Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Spikes, McDonald & Harford Funeral Home, with the Very Rev. William ,J. Spicer, rector of Trinity Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from this evening until the hour of services. The casket will remain closed. A memorial has been established, to which friends may contribute.
